This tool used IBM's Graphic Display Adapter (GDA) to render primitive shapes as graphics images, with the user manipulating them and "drawing" with a mouse. It was used to teach drafting concepts to software developers at the University of Utah, under the guidance of John A. Klein. The team finished the first version of CAD in September 1978, and it was later released commercially in 1979 as Frontline Systems for $1,495. (In February 1983, a year after the introduction of the Apple Macintosh, Frontline Systems was renamed Autodesk.) During the development of Frontline, Druschel and Klein formed the first incarnation of Autodesk, an Autodesk Inc., (founded in 1969 as a partnership of Druschel and Kurt Lindstrom, the former of whom invented the first commercially successful light table) in December 1978. The first commercial version of Frontline, released in 1979, was 2D and was only available for the Apple II, Commodore PET, and IBM PC (with an internal GDA-based graphics card). It was distributed by NCSA, using a $600 grant from the Semiconductor Industry Association, a division of the Electronics Industry Association. AutoCAD was then developed from this commercial version of Frontline, by a team led by Druschel and Jay Horwitz, and it was introduced in December 1982 with an initial cost of $1,995. Initially, Autodesk was primarily focused on the drafting market. To promote Autodesk's first product, Druschel gave interviews, and Autodesk made a publicity film that was shown on public television. Additionally, Druschel wrote two software titles, Graphic Analysis (1979) and Graphycal Drafting (1981), both of which were designed to be in-depth teaching tools. In 1981, Druschel and Autodesk launched AutoCAD by adding 2D and 3D features to Frontline, to bring the product closer to a tool for professional use. To further promote AutoCAD, a professional 3D drawing system called AutoCAD3D (later Autodesk 3D Studio) AutoCAD X64 History AutoCAD was first released on March 5, 1987. A beta version of AutoCAD 2.0 was available for a short time before the release of AutoCAD 2.01 in May 1987. AutoCAD version 2.0 was released for DOS and was compatible with the earlier version of AutoCAD, AutoCAD-1.0. AutoCAD version 2.0 was available for MS-DOS, IBM PC, Microsoft Windows 3.x and Windows 95. AutoCAD version 2.0 was also available for Mac OS, providing native Mac OS drawing capabilities. AutoCAD version 2.01 was released in April 1991 and introduced full support for 3D. AutoCAD 2.02 was released in April 1994 and introduced support for 3D-graphics hardware acceleration. AutoCAD version 2.5 was released in September 1999 and introduced LiveBIDS, which allowed users to place AutoCAD drawings onto AutoCAD map service data, enabling them to see both the drawing and the associated mapping information. AutoCAD 2004 was released in November 2004 and introduced the Level of Detail feature, which enabled users to restrict the detail level of a drawing to display only certain parts. AutoCAD 2008 was released on November 30, 2007 and introduced a number of improvements, including integration with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Windows XP. AutoCAD 2010 was released in January 2009 and introduced integration with Microsoft Windows Vista and Office 2007. AutoCAD 2013 was released on January 13, 2012 and introduced integration with the Microsoft SharePoint Workspace. AutoCAD 2014 was released on January 24, 2013 and introduced LiveBIDS for AutoCAD Architecture, AutoCAD Electrical, AutoCAD Mechanical and AutoCAD Construction. AutoCAD 2014 also introduced automatic creation of an On-Screen Keypad when On-Screen Input is disabled. AutoCAD 2016 was released on October 10, 2015. The final release of AutoCAD 2016 will be in 2016. AutoCAD 2017 was released on June 22, 2016. The final release of AutoCAD 2017 will be in 2017. AutoCAD 2018 was released on October 19, 2017. The final release of AutoCAD 2018 will be in 2018. AutoCAD 2019 was released on January 9, 2018. AutoCAD 2020 was released on December 5, 2019. But on Monday, what appeared to be a Ukrainian military convoy, with 150 soldiers on board, was spotted moving toward the city on the road. And just a few hours after entering the city, the soldiers blew up one of their own armored vehicles with a grenade, killing one and injuring 11 others. The move by the army into the city came after Vladimir Groysman, the speaker of the Ukrainian parliament, warned that the rebels who control the city would be forced to accept the terms of the Minsk agreements—in which separatists are supposed to lay down their arms in exchange for safe-passage, a buffer zone, and international monitoring of the ceasefire. And on Wednesday, a Ukrainian soldier, Aleksander, was killed when a mortar round hit his armored vehicle, outside of the city. Now there's been a wave of dissent against the military action in the city, with Ukrainians like the musician, singer, and activist, Dmytro Danylyshyn, calling on the soldiers to lay down their weapons and be locked up in their barracks. You can now search your drawing for commands, tooltips, objects, and data—and filter results to only display those commands, tooltips, objects, or data associated with the specific element you want to see. (video: 1:35 min.) More powerful and efficient handling of parametric data—parametric data objects, such as splines and spline-related components, are now included within the toolbox, reducing the number of steps required to modify your parametric data and significantly improving efficiency in the creation and editing of splines and spline-related components. Point & Path tools have been reorganized into an improved and more intuitive toolset that is designed to offer quick and easy access to specific commands, tools, and properties—in addition to existing tools like the Rectangle, Ellipse, Line, Text, and Polyline tools. CAD applications that include the command line now support saving and opening drawings in the format of your choice (i.e., AutoCAD or AutoCAD LT), and include better handling of large drawings. Drawing aids and automation tools have been improved to make them more powerful and to offer easier access to specific commands, tools, and properties. Support for extensions such as Push, Xref, and Lockup has been added to the command line. A Drawing Template Manager that allows you to store drawings in templates for instant access has been added. The command palettes have been rearranged to provide a more intuitive and logical workflow. Automatic layout has been added to design-time tools, enabling the objects you drag to automatically be placed according to their dimensions. A rendering engine has been added to the command line, enabling you to send the generated image to the printer or export it to an image file. New Features in Spline: Splines: Splines can now be edited in both 2D and 3D, using either 2D tools or 3D drawing commands. New “Standard” tools have been added to offer more efficient editing and to provide a better workflow when editing splines. A new “3D, World Space” drawing option has been added to enable you to quickly and easily draw splines in 3D. The Spline Presets option has been added to quickly change the settings of a 2D spline to a System Requirements For AutoCAD: Windows® 10/8/7/Vista/XP DirectX® 11 (for SteamVR version) OS x 10.6 or higher CPU: Intel® Core 2 Duo E8400, AMD Phenom X4 945 Memory: 4 GB RAM Video: NVIDIA GTX 560 or Radeon HD 7950 with 2 GB RAM Hard Drive: 25 GB available space Video Game: SteamVR - SteamVR games need to be installed to the Steam Cloud, then SteamVR will be
